Originally an Art Department Trainee, on request of the Producer I stepped up as Production Designer to manage the Art Department.
Working closely with the Producer I worked across the art department, set decoration, dressing props and standby roles.
I became very good friends with house location owners prior to and during the production, having spent a large amount of time learning a great deal with regards to Orthodox Jewish culture from them, along with working closely throughout. The attention to detail and accuracy being vital to the film, especially as it was to be seen at a Jewish Festival.
Set decoration makes, working with location owner and site technician to dig graves in cemetery.
Graphics including Rabbi and family photographs.
Storyline
Daniel, an ultra orthodox Jew, hasn’t seen his identical twin brother Mordechai in years; Mordechai’s ‘life choices’ were a bit too much for the family to handle. But today is the day of their father’s funeral and Daniel is forced to pick Mordechai up from the airport. When their reunion is cut short Daniel is offered the opportunity he’s always been looking for...
Mordechai is a funny and touching fable about family, faith and the roles we play.
