Contributions on productions: During productions I have researched across the art dept, set dec and scenic team, compiled information, shared with relevant crew, created mood-boards, contributed to script breakdowns and undertook administration work. Most recently I worked in graphic design, coming up with names for brand clearance, creating posters, cover-ups, paperwork, plaques, head projector whiteboard graphics, digital artwork using Photoshop, PowerPoint and iStock. I was involved with hand produced stationary content, rebranding props and the making of physical graphics props/action props. I have supported the art dept, set dec and standby crew by petty cash buying, making and ageing various set dec/prop items, along with managing a float budget and navigating spends with accounts. In addition I have liaised with standby crews and prop masters for set dec, last minute action prop requests, solution to issues and assisted in maintaining kit, together with delivering items to the crew on set and location. On set I have been involved with assisting the set decorator with dressing, assisted scenic painters, and as a standby’s runner.
Background including: Short Films, Fine Art, Theatre, LFS: Absolute Beginners, currently learning some of the basics of SketchUp/Layout, Excel and attended workshops for Unreal Engine: Virtual Production. I have a good eye for colour, detail and composition. In addition, having worked in the retail sector for 19 years, I am experienced in visual merchandising, customer service/paperwork, end of day close of branch physically/digitally, and people skills.
Education: Graduated with a Masters and First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art, my practice based research focused upon objects, details, spatial awareness, working with and with architectural spaces. The study of human visual perception and the navigation of objects. This gaining me skills of working with a variety of materials such as paint, photography & physical photography, structures and wood. Along with my retail experience previously discussed, expanding across haberdashery, soft furnishings, visual merchandising and jewellery making.
Bringing creative ideas, as well as narratives based upon true events to life from pre-production to a live set has fuelled my passion for visual storytelling. Excited to continue learning, I take in every task, bringing a positive, hard-working, relentless and upbeat attitude to everything I do, both independently and within a team.
Memberships: British Film Designers Guild, Bectu, Graphics Union UK. I was also on the Short Film Voting Committee for the BFDG Production Design Awards 2021.
