Hiya!
I’m Julie a Graphics/Art Dept Asst working in HETV, Film and advertising with experience as a a Fine Artist.
My graphic design role involving researching, creating scripted and non-scripted posters, brand cover-ups, magazine covers, product packaging, labels, passes, classroom presentations, all made to scale, working between Photoshop, Powerpoint and more recently InDesign. Together with hand produced graphics including cutting-sticking-making, filing out memo's, notebooks, paperwork, diaries and supporting the lead graphic designer.
As art department I have produced/been involved with scripted and non-scripted key action props, worked closely with the set decoration department as a petty cash buyer, liaised with standby teams, assisted with set dressing and lent a hand to scenic painters.
My background in Fine Art, 2D animation, Theatre and passion for Graphic Design means that I have a fairly adaptive style. I have produced traditionally designed theatre backcloths for both TV short film and amateur theatre, whilst also bold, sometimes geometric, slightly cartoonish posters for screen. I enjoy the quirky, eccentric and imperfections in life! It allows for uniqueness and character.
Bringing creative ideas, as well as narratives based upon true events to life from pre-production to a live set has fuelled my passion for visual storytelling. Excited to continue learning, I take in every task, bringing a positive, hard-working, relentless and upbeat attitude to everything I do, both independently and within a team.
I am based in the North East, always looking for future ventures and career opportunities. If you would like to work together, please do get in touch!
